Frequent Pathologies

Active and sequelae acne (scars, hyperpigmentation)

Active acne is characterized by excessive oil production that clogs pores and causes inflammation, leading to pimples, pustules, or cysts. If not treated properly, it can leave scars (pits or raised areas of the skin), redness, or dark spots. These can be prevented and treated with dermatological procedures such as laser, peels, microdermabrasion, or depigmentation therapies, depending on the individual case.

Skin infections (fungi, bacteria, viruses)

Skin infections can be caused by fungi, bacteria, or viruses, and each manifests differently. Fungi cause redness, itching, and scaling; bacteria cause pustules, blisters, and hot spots; and viruses cause blisters, ulcers, or warts. Treatment varies depending on the type of infection and includes antifungals, antibiotics, antivirals, or specialized dermatological procedures.

Sexually transmitted diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that can affect anyone who is sexually active, but are more common in young people. Some, such as genital herpes and molluscum contagiosum, may not present visible symptoms but require diagnosis and appropriate treatment. In our dermatology practice, we offer specialized, confidential, and respectful care for your comprehensive health.

Melasma

Melasma is a skin condition that causes dark spots, primarily on the face, and is often related to hormonal factors, sun exposure, and genetic predisposition. Although it doesn't pose a health risk, it can affect appearance and self-esteem. Treatment requires consistency and includes daily sun protection, the use of lightening products, peels, or laser treatments. With proper follow-up, it's possible to noticeably improve the skin's condition and maintain its health.
