Adolescent Dermatology
Adolescent dermatology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions that affect young people during puberty. At Piel Dermatología, we understand the challenges adolescents face with their skin and offer personalized solutions to help them feel confident and comfortable with their appearance during this important stage of life.
Frequent Pathologies
Acne
Acne is a skin disorder that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. It can affect many parts of the body (such as the face, neck, shoulders, upper back, and chest). In many cases, treating acne improves self-esteem and helps develop life skills related to self-care. A smaller number of adolescents have a more severe form of acne, which is important to treat to prevent permanent scarring.
Seborrheic dermatitis
It is a common skin condition that primarily affects the scalp. It causes scaly, inflamed skin and persistent dandruff. It typically affects oily areas of the body, such as the face, sides of the nose, eyebrows, ears, eyelids, and chest.
Hyperhidrosis
This is excessive sweating that isn't always related to heat or exercise. You may sweat so much that your clothes are soaked or sweat drips from your hands. Excessive sweating can be a daily problem and cause social anxiety and embarrassment.
