Dermatologic Surgery
Dermatologic surgery is a medical specialty that specializes in the surgical treatment of skin, hair, and nail diseases. At Piel Dermatología, we offer a wide range of surgical procedures to correct lesions, moles, tumors, and other dermatological conditions that cannot be treated noninvasively.
Frequently Asked Questions
Skin Cancer
Early detection and recognition of skin cancer are very important. Visiting a specialist will allow you to obtain an early diagnosis and timely surgical treatment. It is important to note that clinical, dermatoscopic, and/or biopsy diagnosis must be performed by a dermatologist.
Scars and Keloids
A keloid scar is a thickened, raised scar. It can occur anywhere you have a skin injury, but it most commonly forms on the earlobes, shoulders, cheeks, or chest. If you are prone to developing keloids, you may experience them in more than one location.
Removal of Moles and Benign Lesions
Their main importance (besides their cosmetic implications) is that they have a melanoma-like appearance. Pigmented lesions should be evaluated if they present worrisome features (new or changing appearance, irregular borders, multiple colors in a lesion, bleeding, ulceration) that may suggest an atypical nevus.
